In celebration of EMOP, we invite you to an evening with Feli & Pepita, a German-based artist duo exploring childhood, adolescence, and the transition into adulthood. Their series IN MY ROOM – Youth Between Hope and Fear captures the perspectives of 38 young people from 10 countries around the Black Sea (e.g. Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Greece, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia). This exhibition seeks to bridge cultural and geographical divides, offering a powerful glimpse into youth perspectives across borders.
The evening, moderated by Igor Mitchnik (Austausch e.V.), will feature a book launch and open discussion with Feli & Pepita, inviting guests to engage directly with the artists, and we will close the night with a performance and DJ set by DISCOROBICS.
This vernissage marks the launch of our fundraising efforts to revive the Half King Photography Series in Berlin. Originally curated by Anna Van Lenten at The Half King in NYC, the series was a platform for fearless documentary photography that illuminated urgent social and environmental issues. Our revival will feature six international photographers, tackling subjects from environmental crises in Morocco to evolving Indigenous identities in North Ecuador. Each exhibition will open with an engaging Q&A with the artists, creating space for dialogue between artists and audience.
With Berlin’s new government slashing cultural funding, independent initiatives like ours are more crucial than ever. We must remind them that these stories matter—and that we will bring them to life, with or without their support. Your attendance and donation will help us bring international artists to Berlin, ensuring their voices remain heard while keeping this work bold, uncompromised, and urgent.
At Zeitgeist Zentrum, we foster connections, conversation, and the interplay of language, art, and culture.
